With our exclusive privacy and very personal service, The Rocks holiday villas are a very unique resort in southern Thailand. Surrounded by lush tropical jungle and overlooking the blue waters of the Gulf, our three boutique villas and infinity-edge pool combine a feeling of tranquility, luxury and privacy.

The Rocks is proud to be the first luxury resort under Swiss and British management on Koh Tao, and the resort with the most spacious villas on the island. Our villas, secluded, but still only 4-5 minutes walk from the beach, are the perfect holiday location for families, groups of friends or your honeymoon.

The Villas
Our boutique villas and pool are built on a hillside, surrounded by a lush tropical garden, impressive granite boulders, jungle and coconut trees. Relax and enjoy the breathtaking ocean view and unforgettable sunsets from your balcony.

Our private infinity-edge swimming pool is of course for the exclusive usage of our guests. The pool is 7 meters long and overlooks the ocean.

To secure a most tranquil and exclusive holiday we have, besides the pool, only three villas on our 4000 m2 property.

The Couples Villa (with 66m2 living space) offers:

This Couples Villa accommodates 2 persons and is perfect for honeymooners or couples seeking the perfect romantic hideaway.

- Roof covered balcony with breathtaking ocean view

These Family Villas comfortably accommodate 4 persons.

- On request we arrange private poolside barbeques.

- If you would like to explore the island, we organize taxis / rentals for different types of motorbikes or small cars for your individual freedom.

Location
The Rocks holiday villas are located only 4-5 minutes walk to the most beautiful part of Koh Tao’s main beach ‘Sairee’. There you will find a wide selection of restaurants and bars along the beach. Within 8-10 minutes walk, you will reach Sairee village for shopping, more restaurants, bars and nightlife. Enjoy Koh Tao’s large variety of seafood, Thai style and international cuisine such as sushi, Mexican, Mediterranean and Australian BBQs.

“Koh Tao”, which is Thai for “Turtle Island”, arrived at its name from the days when the water surrounding the island were rich with turtles and the island was their breeding ground. Still today, divers and snorkellers can swim with these majestic creatures. The island is approx. 7 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide. It nestles within the warm, clear waters of the Gulf of Thailand about 70 km off the eastern shore of southern Thailand, just north of the Islands Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The fact that it lies only 7 degrees over the equator gives it a warm, tropical climate throughout the year.

Koh Tao, with its very special charm and un-spoilt nature is becoming one of Thailand’s premiere get-a-ways. You will find idyllic palm fringed bays with stunning beaches, surrounded by lush fauna. There are also stylish restaurants, fine dining, relaxing spas and lots of activities that make Koh Tao a dream holiday location. But most importantly there is still a lot of unspoiled landscapes and friendly locals.

How to get to Koh Tao?
The easiest way to get to Koh Tao Island is probably via the Island of Koh Samui, having it’s own international airport. From Samui, Koh Tao is only one and half-hours boat ride away. Twice a day there are convenient air-conditioned ferries available to and from Koh Samui Island, Koh Phangan Island and Chumphon (on the main land). Of course we offer free pick-up from the pier.

Activities
Koh Tao is famous for it’s underwater world. The island is surrounded by crystal clear water and amazing marine life, so snorkeling and diving are one of the most popular activities. You can see wonderful creatures like sea turtles, harmless reef sharks and even seasonal whale sharks (the gentle giants of our seas). Enjoy the underwater world by snorkeling in the bays around Koh Tao, or do a trip to the neighboring island of Koh Nang Yuan by kayak or long-tail-boat. And of course you can book your scuba diving holiday with us too, no matter if you’re a beginner or expert.

Private speedboat charters

If you rather stay above the water, why not try wakeboarding or waterskiing?
Take your family, friends or partner on a day out on our speedboat, it’s so much fun! We offer private charters including lessons in wakeboarding, water skiing and wake skating. Like this, you can also visit bays, which are only accessible by boat: relax, swim, snorkel or simply enjoy the Island’s charm. Hobie cats and windsurfing lessons / rental are also available.

We also offer exclusive yacht charters and cruises to explore the beauty of the gulf.

For your relaxation we arrange in-house spa treatments or private yoga lessons by the pool or on your balcony.

Muay Thai (Thai boxing) is the national sport combining fitness, strength and agility. Private lessons by a professional, English speaking teacher at the islands own Thai boxing-camp and gym can be organized. We can arrange tickets to the local fight nights on request, where you can experience the thrill of the traditional art of professional Muay Thai.

The island also offers fishing trips, bowling, mini-golf, Thai cooking classes, Reiki and much more.
