Tanote
Villa Hill nestles itself firmly amongst the Coconut and various
fruit trees on the East side of Koh Tao Island overlooking the vast
ocean of the Gulf of Thailand. Tanote Villa Hill Resort has a magical
ambience where perfect balance is made by nature. The resort is
situated on the hillside of Tanote Bay on an estate of 12 Rai, which
includes private luxury villas, bar & restaurant.
On
arrival to our resort you will hear the most welcoming ceremony
from the many forest insects, & birds singing, blending in with
the trees moving in the ocean wind, and then absorbing the most
spectacular view from our restaurant looking over the whole of Tanote
Bay.
Tanote
Villa Hill has recently undergone a complete transformation and
now boasts some of the best accommodation on Koh Tao, each private
villa offers either pool and or sea views and offers its own unique
bathroom facilities... We are currently updating our swimming pool
and installing a brand new infinity pool, again offering superb
views out to sea and a sun terrace inviting you to enjoy a relaxing
cocktail or two: The beach is only a 3-5minute walk from the resort,
takes you into another world, enjoy the walk following the wooden
bridge and walk alongside our mountainous waterfall.

A
short leisure tropical walk down to the beach though rain forest
dotted with waterfalls during rainy season. Smell the exotic and
complex scents of native flowers and plants from our botanical gardens,
a short pleasant walk over a wooden bridge & through the tropical
rain-forest down to the beach. This will captivate your mind into
a world of serenity of the whole environment around the original
forest atmosphere.

Our Garden Villas are impeccably scattered throughout the
Tanote Bay hillside giving residents personal privacy from other
guests but still only being a short walk from reception/pool area
and the beach.

Garden Villas
These superb garden villa’s, located next to our tropical
waterfall (monsoon season only) and some with Sea view are superbly
located at the quieter end of the resort. These will be best suited
to you if you want a break from all the action. These villas contain
one double bed allowing for 2 persons.
Deluxe
Family Garden Villas
Family garden villas are great for the larger group wanting
to stay together. With an adjoining inside door between the villa’s,
gives you the opportunity to socialise together or lock the door
from the either side to have some privacy.
With
one double bed and one single bed these villas are able to accommodate
up to 3 persons in each, however extra beds (camp beds) are available
at an extra small charge to cater for the larger groups.

Garden Villas Seaview
Our deluxe sea view/partial sea view villas are quietly located
away from the main pool area. These villas contain one double bed
allowing for 2 persons. They are situated next to our tropical walk
way where you will be transported to Tanote’s glorious beach and
the Gulf of Thailand vast ocean. Each of these villa’s come with
its own unique style of bathroom which really will take you back
to nature...

Our newly built pool villas offer sea views to die for, each
decorated with individual furnishings offer a home from home feel
but ensuring your shown the tranquil settings of Tanote Bay. They
are located within the pool area so are within easy reach for an
early morning swim. These villas contain one double bed allowing
for 2 persons.
Executive
Deluxe Pool Villas Seaview
Executive deluxe villas come with magnificent sea views,
as well as being adjacent to our newly built infinity pool these
villas offer luxury accommodation and boast superb bathroom facilities,
either take a shower or relax in the deep bath made out of polished
concrete, it really is an experience to behold. These villas contain
one double bed allowing for 2 persons.
Location
Tanote Villa Hill Resort is beautifully nestled into the
eastern mountainside of Koh Tao Island which is approximately 70km
East of mainland Thailand.
Koh
Tao
Koh means 'Island' and Tao means 'Turtle' in Thai. This beautiful
island has had turtles returning year after year to lay their eggs
and reproduce on the beaches of Koh Tao. The island itself is roughly
21 km? in area and one port where you will arrive in Mae Haad. From
1933-47 Koh Tao was used as a political prison and it wasn't until
the 1980's that Koh Tao started to see its first tourists. Back
then there was very little in the way of roads or any type of ammenities.
Now however, Koh Tao manages to still encombus that balance of idylic
beaches and natural beauty while providing features expected of
any international tourist destination - paved roads, medical and
police facilities, banks and postal services.
Tanote
Bay
Tanote Bay lies on the Eastern side of Koh Tao. A little
away from the hustle and bustle of Mae Haad (the piers) and Sairee
Beach (the busiest tourist area), Tanote Bay proivdes a beautiful
sandy beach surrounded by towering boulders dotted throughout the
hillside. With only a few resorts in Tanote it has maintained its
serenity and sense of peacefullness. Whether admiring the sea views
from the resort or down on the beach you will definately be able
to appreciate the relaxed style of Thai living.
Getting
Here
Travelling to Thailand is easily arranged by many airlines or from
your local Tour Operator. The most common and convenient route involves
getting to Bangkok and from there you have a couple of different
options:
From
Bangkok Airport:
By plane: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Samui airport
then ferry from Koh Samui to Koh Tao. Highly recommended for speed
and comfort
By
coach bus from Bangkok to Chumpon then by Ferry to Koh Tao.
By
Train from Bangkok to Chumpon then by ferry to Koh Tao.
Boats/Ferries:
We are situated quite neatly just a 2 hour ferry journey from Koh
Samui and 1 hour from Koh Phangan. The Lomprayh and Seatran Ferries
both arrive at Mae Head Pier twice a day.
Similarly
from Chumpon and Suratthani boats run during the day and can be
booked as bus/train/boat joint tickets - just ask your travel agent
for the current options available to suit your needs best.
Arriving
on Koh Tao:
Once you have arrived on Koh Tao we offer a free pick up taxi service
from the pier, where we will then transport you to the tranquil
resort of Tanote Villa Hill - just let us know which boat you are
arriving on so we can be there to welcome you!
Koh
Tao
is the smallest and most Northern island of the three located of
the East Coast of Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand. In the North
it borders with Myanmar (Burma), Laos
and Cambodia,
while the South connects to Malaysia.
Activities
Koh Tao is a paradise island the activities and interests
are oriented around beach culture, the following attractions are
most popular in Koh Tao.
Diving
and Snorkelling: Koh Tao is world renowned for its divesites and
high training standards. If you've never tried Scuba Diving, Koh
Tao is the perfect place (and probably one of the cheapest!) to
give it a try and experience a truley amazing underwater world that
only a small percentage of people know about. Not sure about breathing
underwater - Koh Tao has manny shallow bays with beautiful colourful
coral perfect for snorkelling - Tanote Beach just a 2 minute walk
from the accomodation being a prime example of this. For more information

The
rugged nature of the granite boulders beautifully placed all throughout
the island make it an excellent location to try Rock Climbing, Cliff
jumping, or just a relaxing hike or bush walk surrounded by nature.
Professional guides can be arranged for any of these trips to ensure
you get the most out of the day. Bird watching is becoming ever
more popular - since the island is far way from mainland and undisturbed
by usual predators it provides the chance for birds in Koh Tao to
enjoy and project their happy and healthy lives.
Fishing
trips are available, but as Koh Tao is a marine reserve, fishing
trips must be organized by our special local fisherman further away
from the island.
Most
privileged and exciting day tours are shark watching, diving with
shark, and turtle watching. These activities are offered seasonally,
please check with our resort information desk.
For
the party animal like any other island fantasy, there are fun nightclubs.
Ask around or check it out for yourself which one suits your style.
Special
Events
On 13th April Thailand celebrates New Year, this is known
as the Songkran Festival. Thai New Year is also known to tourists
as a Water Festival where water is thrown at passer by’s along with
flour sometimes.....
The
Songkran holiday has 3 important days, 12th of April is the last
day of the previous year, 13th April is the 1st day of the New Year
also called Wan Wang means “empty day” where on the 13th one have
plan for nothing but playing and celebrating the New Year Day. On
the 14th is the day Thai people welcoming their new godly King,
which changes every year.
During
Songkran Festival, Thai people pay respect to their elders by bathing
them, dressing them in new set of clothes. New garments and perfume
are common presents to give for each other. Buying life stock from
slaughter houses are giveen to farmers, and also the releasing of
fish, turtles, & birds to their freedom are also common practice
among the Thais.

on site leaving the resort is only optional! But with the many exciting
activities that Koh Tao has to offer we recommend you get out there
and give some of them a try. We are able to easily book any activities
on the island including transportation leaving you just to enjoy
your days out.

wedding to take place, we work in partnership with a local Wedding
facilitator and will provide you with an exoctic day for you and

Pool
We are currently in the process of renovating our swimming pool
into a Butterfly 'infinity' swimming pool which is fantastically
constructed into the rock of the mountain, enjoy a breathtaking
swim whilst admiring the view of the ocean or a pool side cocktail
to cool you in the heat of the day.
WIFI
Internet
So your on a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand, that doesn't
mean you have to be cut off from the rest of the world. Of course
you can if you want to be though! Throughout Tanote Villa Hill FREE
broadband WIFI internet is available to our customers.
Use
it in the comfort and privacy of your own villa, while enjoying
a drink in the restaurant of even when relaxing by the poolside!
Diving
and Snorkelling
Koh Tao is infamous for its beautiful dive spots and marine life.
Water temperature in the Gulf of Thailand around Koh Tao is commonly
29-31?C - thus providing perfect conditions for coral reef growth
and hence an abundance of marine life.
Scuba
Diving
The dive industry on Koh Tao has been growing steadily for many
years now. Helped by an excellent island wide safety record, along
with a high percentage of not only new divers but many of the world's
dive instructors originating from this amazing little island, its
no wonder people flock from all over the world to come and dive
here.
Beginner
courses take roughly 4 days and we will gladly make bookings with
respected local dive shops for during your stay. For those who already
dive further courses in practically any area of interest, whether
it be the coral, the fish, underwater photography, wreck diving
or just going on some 'fun dives' there's something here for everyone!
Snorkelling
Scuba diving is an amazing experience but not for everyone - lucky
for these people the shallow bays around the island including Tanote
itself provide excellent snorkelling opportunities for those who
so desire - just remember to put sun cream on the back of your legs!
All
year round colourful tropical fish species - Angel Fish, Banner
Fish, Damsels, Parrot Fish, Wrasse, Rays and Eels can be seen in
and amongst the brightly decorated coral reef. Different seasons
bring different marine life and some spectacular sights of Sea Turtles,
Hawksbill Turtles, Black-tip Reef Sharks and even Whalesharks!
Whether
you choose to dive or snorkel you're guaranteed to see something
here that makes you want to do it again and again!

Our Restaurant is renowned for its magnificent view point looking
over Tanote Bay.
We
have reopened our already great Restaurant where you can try some
really great Thai delights, we now offer some truely irresistible
dishes from around the world, and to even further test your taste
buds our chefs have put together a tantilising desserts menu to
finish off your meal....

offer B.B.Q & curry nights to offer a vast selection of Fish
& curry dishes from around the world.
