Bohemia
Resort is nested at the frontier of the azure water of Gulf
of Thailand, the immensity of Southern Thailand blue skies and Koh
Tao island rain forest.
Situated
at the southernmost tip of the small and secluded island of Koh
Tao, our four newly renovated, Thai style bungalows are an invitation
to contemplate the neighbouring islands of Koh Phangan and Angthong
National marine Park.
Away
from busier parts of Koh Tao, protected by lush tropical vegetation,
Bohemia resort adds its stunning views to the immediate proximity
of Koh Tao’s most charming and secluded beaches.
Bohemia
Resort and its friendly, English, French and Italian speaking
staff will take you so far from your usual busy life that you will
start believing Eden really exists.

Libor
is Swiss, born in Czech Republic; Rose is Italian, born in Switzerland
and between them they speak half dozen languages.
We
had been sharing the same dream since we met 20 years ago. Travel
around Asia and the Indian Ocean and find a nice island where to
build a quiet and green retreat in front of a stunning sea view.
In
1998 we reached Koh Tao almost by chance, while travelling in Thailand.
Our 3 days stay became three weeks. Two years later, after getting
around Asia, Caribbean islands and Africa we decided to finally
settle in the place that gave us the most unforgettable experience.
That
place was Koh Tao of course. We spent the next seven years as diving
instructors on the island until we found our place. One of the most
beautiful views over Koh Tao’s South Coast, facing Koh Phangan and
the islands of the Angthong Marine Park, secluded from Koh Tao’s
busy and noisy West Coast, nested on top of a rain forest covered
hill, about five hundred meters of the sea line.
We
knew then we had found our dream place, we took over the place,
spent two years renovating it in exquisite Thai design and finally
named it Bohemia.
Our
greatest pleasure would be to share part of our dream with you.

Bohemia
has been redesigned keeping in mind the idea to preserve its unique
character. Preserving the surrounding nature and making sure our
business would have the lowest possible impact on the environment
was our priority.
All
our chalets have been renovated using as much local materials as
possible. Locally sourced wood pieces were used to decorate every
chalet in their own unique way, ensuring both exquisite decoration
and sustainability.
Our
chalets are newly furnished with mini fridge, electric kettle, ceiling
fan and mosquito net. We recommend our guests to limit electrical
consumption as well as electrical production is the main pollution
source on the island.
The
bathrooms are half open air to enjoy your shower under the stars.
The large terraces all come with comfortable reclining chairs and
hammocks for you to chill out while enjoying the amazing view.
As
water management is an issue in a small island like Koh Tao, with
limited water available, mainly during dry season. Bohemia Resort
has its own water storage tanks for guests to enjoy high quality
water in sufficient supply. We only use bio degradable detergents
in order to recycle used water for garden irrigation.
We also try to limit the usage of plastic bags and plastic bottles
as much as possible and make sure the surrounding areas are kept
free of any littering.

Koh
Tao
Aow
Haad Tien Bay, Koh Tao.
Koh
Tao is a small island in the Gulf of Thailand, east of the peninsula
Thai. Its geographic location make it quite impervious to the effects
of the south western monsoon blowing from May to October and rather
unaffected by the north east monsoon from October to March, unlike
Phuket
and Krabi.
Koh
Tao is small, only 21square kilometers, covered with dense rain
forest and quite mountainous. Away from the great touristic migrations,
Koh Tao attracts diving enthusiasts with its crystal clear waters
and amazing dive sites. It is not unusual to spot whales and wale
sharks there.
