Haad Rin (Sunset & Sunrise)

Haad Rin can be divided into two sections, Haad Rin Nok, the lively party beach and Haad Rin Nai, which has a quieter bohemian feel. Haad Rin Nok has the biggest concentration of rooms, clubs and bars, so if you stay there you will be right in the thick of the party vibe. The beach itself is one of the biggest on the island and it fills with sunbathers by day and party goers at night, visting the many beach clubs and bars that Haad Rin is so famous for.

Haad Rin Nai is located on the southern coast of the peninsula and although there are many restaurants and places to go, it is much more peaceful than the other side, with more boutiques than bars. It's only a short walk to the party beach, so it's an ideal place to stay, within walking distance to all the action but far enough away for some peace and quiet.

Services
Haad Rin is fairly well serviced and has numerous facilities in the town so that you do not have to head to the island's capital if you need assistance. There is a police substation, the Haad Rin Inter Clinic, several pharmacies, a post office, two banks, several ATMs and exchange windows.

Restaurants
Haad Rin offers the most cosmopolitan mix of restaurants on Koh PhaNgan, with a vast choice of different tastes all within walking distance of each other. There are beachfront seafood BBQs, Italian, Mexican, Israeli, Moroccan, Mediterranean, Indian and may more varieties as well as traditional Thai restaurants and street stalls. Just wander around the town and head for what you fancy.

Entertainment
There is plenty to keep you occupied between partying in Haad Rin, with several boat trips going to waterfalls and beaches around the island, fishing trips and watersports such as sailing and diving, beach volleyball, football and of course sunbathing! There are also some great walks over to the hills of the east coast to secluded beaches and some great beach walks up on the south coast.

Shopping
Haad Rin is a great place to shop with an excellent variety of crafts, jewellery, clothes, artwork and traditional Thai items. There are a great number of boutique shops throughout the town running all the way to the pier. Prices are reasonable and are often hard to beat, even in Bangkok, there are also many outlets supplying goods in bulk for export.

Bars & Nightlife
You are spoilt for choice if you fancy a drink in the island's nightlife capital. There are beachfront bars for sunset cocktails, beach clubs if you want to dance and loads of bars in the town with everything from pool tables to Playstaytions. Then there is the infamous clubbing scene that Haad Rin offers, check local publicity to see which party to head for.

Accommodation
Haad Rin offers a great variety of accommodation options, from old skool beach huts to palatial A/Csuites. The main party beach of Haad Rin Nok is very lively, but great if you want to be in the middle of everything. Haad Rin Nai is quieter and often easier to finding a room on. Further round the peninsula on Leela beach there are several nice new resorts and down to Ao Hin Lor there are some great value huts as well as a few high end operations.
