There are several waterfalls in the region and it is easily possible to beach hop up the coast by foot if you want to explore the area, whilst at the southern end of Haad Chao Phao, Laem Son Lake is a great place to get a swim in freshwater unter the backdrop of cool shady pines. Due to the north-west's longstanding popularity, there is great seafood, Isaan food and noodles; there are also several restaurants serving to quality European food in the region as well as plenty of nightlife, with several great beach bars/clubs and Paradise Waterfall; a hilltop party venue in Chaloklum.
