CHUMPHON
PROVINCE
1.
Introduction
Chumphon
province is located in the most upper part of
the Southern region. Following the Highway No.4, it
is approximately 463 kilometers from Bangkok or about
476 kilometers by railroad. The total area or Chumphon
is about 6,009 square kilometers, the fourth largest
province of the South. The province is divide into
8 districts, 70 tambons, and 655 villages. Considering
the administrative area, there are 2 municipal areas
12 sanitary areas and 66 Sub-district Administration
Organization
The
boundary to the north is Prachuap Khiri Khan, to the
south is Surat Thani. The Gulf of Thailand situates
on the east, while the west are the Union of Myanmar
and Ranong.
The
shape of the province is long and narrow, the west
consisted of mountains which are also the natural
international boundary. The plain area which is suitable
for farming is in the central part. The east of Chumphon
consists of 222 kilometer long coastal with beaches.
Raining
season in Chumphon is relatively long, last from May
to November. The temperature is not too high in summer
and not too low in winter as well.
At
June 1997 the population residing in Chumphon is 440,820,
222, 865 are male and 217,955 are female. The population
density is 72 per square kilometer. The highest population
as found in Chumphon district while the lowest are
is in Patao district. About 15.47% of total population
live in the urban areas 65.41% are over 13 year old
with 52.78% of labor force and 2.13% of unemployed
persons. The minimum wage in Chumphon is 130 baht
daily.
In
1996, it is found that 55.38% of total area is cultivated
land, 19% are under forest and 41.68% are under residential
land.

Economic Background. Chumphon is the small province
with the high growth rate. Gross Provincial Product
has been increased 3 times in 10 years. Compare to
the Gross Domestic Product the product share of Chumphon
is constantly at 0.55%, except in 1989-1990 the share
was down to 0.5% due to the typhoon “Gay” Anyway,
Chumphon per capita income has been growing at the
high rate. In 1995, per capita income was 49,324 baht,
accounted for the 7 the highest of the kingdom. The
economic growth rate is also relatively high which
was 10.27% compare to 6.24% of the South, 4.23% of
Surat Thani, and 8.84% of the whole kingdom,
During
the last 10 years, agriculture has been the most important
sector, followed by trade sector and service sector,
Manufacture sector.
In
agriculture sector, cultivation is the main actively,
about 40% of GPP. In 1995, the main crop was coconut,
para rubber, coffee, durian, rambutan and mangos teen.
However, some of may get some negative impact by GATT
and AFTA. Fishery is the second most important activity
and has the potential to develop.
Manufacture
sector in Chumphon is small and has not fully developed
most factories are small agro-industried factories,
such as cannery and vegetable-oil extraction. Chumphon
is the center of manufacturing.
For
the rest of economic sector, the change has been slightly
during last decade. In general, Chumphon is the province
with the good economic condition and high purchasing
power. Anyway, Chumphon economy depends open only
agriculture sector which is so sensitive to the uncontrolled
factors, such as natural disaster and world market
condition.
3. Tourism. There are several natural beauty
both inland and coastline, including beaches, islands,
national parks and mountains. Basically, most natural
places still keep their original charm and this strong
point should be promoted for tourism.

Banking and Insurance. There are 11 banks with
37 branches operating in Chumphon. The saving bank,
the bank for agriculture and cooperative, and the
branches of insurance companies also have their business
operating. At the end of 1997, the total deposit was
12,637.6 million baht, 13.90% increase from last year,
while the total credit was 12,637.6 million baht;
12.33% increase from last year. By this figured, it
was found that credit-deposit ratio has been increasing
over time.

Infrastructure and Social Service

Transportation
The
system consists of 8 main highways; such as Highway
No.4 and 41. The railroads also pass through that
can connect Chumphon to Bangkok and down south to
Malaysia.
The
airport is construction and expected to be completed
in 1998.

Communication
Fourteen
post office open their operation in Chumphon. There
also are 37 post offices run by private. There are
20,306 telephone numbers available.
3)
Eccentricity and Water. Electricity distributes to
all district with 70,008 customers, while 2 offices
operate the running water 600 and 100 cubic meters
per hours respectively. The supply of electricity
and water is considered sufficient.

Strength.

Chumphon is located at the door to the south with
the long coastline and boundary to Andaman sea through
Ranong and to the main city: Surat Thani.

The transportation system is relatively completed.
Airport is almost completed and seaport is in process.

There exists rich cultivating sand. As the results,
Chumphon is able to produce agriculture products enough
to supply industry.

The high level of per capita income indicates the

Khao
Jadee. It is located in village No.7 Bangson Sub
district, 500 meters northeast from Pa Thiew District
and 800 meters asphalt road up to the hill.
Visit
Jadee (pagoda) which is on the top of the hill. It
is Ayuthaya style art and respect Pra Thiew Banphot
which is next to the Jadee.

Don Taa Then and Don Yai Chee. They are in village

Plu has 2 caves, Khoa plu Cave and Nam Rod Cave, The
first one in important because it is about the life
of famous learned monk of Chumphon Province and the
south of Thailand. He is Lung Phor Cheep Bunyasro.
And in this cave there is a moument of him for this
people to respect. The last one has a 300 meters long
way pf water an entrance of the c ave. There are a
of bats on the ceiling with beautiful stalactites
and stalagmites. More over the tourists can see a
hundred of apes which usually live in the deep forest.

Khao Plu Cave. This is large cave in village No.
3, Chumkoo Sub district 3 kilometers, north of Pa
Thiew Mab-ummarit Route. This cave is on the road
side. It is easy to enter in the cave’s interior which
has holy pool.
Teen
pet cave. This cave is in village No.3, Khao Chairat
Sub district far from Phet Khasame, Rd. about 300
meters. The main cave’s interior has both big and
small caves, baked clay utensils and anaimal corpse
were found here. It is said that this place was a
community of the old people before historial age.

Sao
Luk Muang (the main post of town). It is located
in village No. 1 Pak Klong Sub district far away from
Mabummarit railwaystation about 7 kilometers along
asphalt road to Pak Klong Village and 1 kilometer
of a laterite road near Na khai templle Respect the
main post of town which is over 1000 year old. Tourists
can admire view of Thung Maha Bay. Too

Khao Meow. Khao meow is located in village No.3,
Thalesub Sub district, northwest 3 kms. From pa Thiew
District by laterite road. People believe that place
is a magic land amd they also believe that there is
mythical metal ( Lek Lai) which someone try to get
it in the past. The cave’s inteseat for the monk which
has the age more than 100 year old. There is a mistery
legend about khao Meaw that was told later from one
to one.
Thung
Wua laen Beach. This beach is in village No. 8,
Sp Phlee Sub district far away 18 kms. From Pa thiew
District by asphalt road and 16 kms. From city center.
The name of this beach comes from a legend about a
magic wild bull who. After being subdued by the hunters,
came back to live while being skinned and run away
into the forest. So. The hunters named this beach
“Thung Wua Laen” meaning “Running Bull field.”
Thung
Wua Laen Beach has a slight slope and find white sand,
It is popular among Thai and foreign tourists. On
the south of the beach near the foot of Phopac Hill
kies a dicing spot with reefs around which algae,
sponges. Marine flowers and species of fish grow and
live. If you get a chance to visit this district do
not overlooks this beach.
Sa
Phlee Beach. This beach is located in village
No.4 Chum Kho Sub district, 10 kms. South of Pa Tue
District 2 Kms. And far away from thung Wua Laen Beach
to the north along asphalt road or far from the city
center by chumphon Sa Phlee Route about 18 kms. Sa
Phlee Beach is near Sa Phlee Bay where is a large
fishing village name “The Samed.” This is a big community
that is renowned shrimp paste and fish sauce. The
tourists can buy preserved seafood here.

Bor Ma Beach. This beach is located in village
No.4 Chum Kho Sub district center about 10 kilometers
by asphalt road along the beach.

Thaen Peninsula. This peninsula is in village
No. 4 Chum Kho Sub district, 10 kms from Pa thiew
District which is the same way to Bor Mao Beach, and
separated 1 km laterite road from the main road. Thaen
peninsula is 60 kms. Far from the city center.
This
peninsula is low hill protruding into the sea. There
is a large stone lawn for you to sit and clearly observe
the view of bor Mao Bay. Thaen Peninsula is aplace
where tourists love to come for a picnic.

Thung Sarng Bay. Thung Sarng Bay is in village
No.5 Chum ko subdistrict. To get there , travel from
Patue district office, to the northeast about 18 kilometers,
along an as phalt road, Pa Tue-Bang Chag. Go along
to acrossroad for 1 kilomenter.
Besides,
this bay has a wonderful view, with white, clean,
sandy beach. By the side of the beach, there are a
lot of shells, and coral reefs.
Kai
Island. This island is in front of Hin Kob Bay.
It’s far from Hin Kob Bay ( Bao Mau Bay) about 6 kilometer,

Kai

Island. This island is in Thung Wua-laen Bay.
It’s far from thung Wua-laen Beach about 10 kilometers.

reefs, beautiful sea flowers and various fishes. That

VEING ISLAND. This island is in Thung Ma-Ha bay,
It’s far form a coast about 5 kilometrs. It is the
biggest island in Pa Tue District. It has a high mountain
which is’ good for fisherman to take refuge from the
wind or storm.

Thab Cave. This cave is in village No.4 Tha-lae
Thab subdistrict. It’s far from Pa Tue district office
to the west. You can go by Phet Kha same Rd. (Tha
sae-Patue) about 7 kilomenters or a crossroad of phetkhasame
Rd. to the east about 12 kilo-meters before Pha Tue
district. It is a big limestone cave . You can walk
through it. It is the location of Tha-Lae Thub cave
Temple. This temple has many big Buddha effigy. The
various trees, You can warship a Buddha effigy.
Phit-sa
Darn Cave. This cave is in village No.6 ThaLae
Thub subdistrict. It’s far from Phet Kha same Rd.
(Tha-sae-Pa-tue about 6 kilometers.) Inside the cave
there are beautiful stalactites and stalagmite that
look like bedroom. Kitchen, living room and else.
That cave still have a real nature that worthy to
conserve.
Yai
Eai Cave. Yai Eai cave is in village No.5 chum
Ko sub district. It’s far from PaTue district office
to the northeast about 16 kilometers.
The
people believe that there is a magic in the cave.
So the fishermen who live around this cave respect
it very much. This cave has a stone looks like fence
around it

Yai Eai Bay. This bay is in village No.6 Chum
Ko subdistrict, Patue district Chumphon Province.
It has a wonderful view on this it is about 25 meters
high from the sea level. At the mouth of the bay,
there is a cave which has very beautiful stalactites
and stalagmites inside. Around this bay that is 1
meter deep of water. There are a beautiful shallows,
coral reefs, fishes and sheels more than 50 kinds.

Lab
Laa Cave (Nang Thong Cave). This cave is in village
No.4 bang Son Subdistrict. It’s far fromPatre district
office to the south about 10 kilometers. There is
a laterite road about 5 kilometes long to this cave
that stand in the valley. To Get there. You have to
walk about 500 meters. Inside the cave, it is 600
square metters wide, it is a marvous cave and has

Chai-ya
prug cave. Chai-ya Prug is in village No.8 Kao
Chai Rad subdistrict, It’s far from phet kha same

office about 35 kilometers.

can go through this cave. The width of the cave can
contain about 300 people. Inside this cave.the beautiful
of nature is still completely conversed.
Thong
Cave. This cave is in village No.5 Phag Klong
subdistrict. It’s far from Mabum marit train station
about 15 kilometers. And far from Pa thiew district
office about 40 kilometers.
At
the beach of thong Cave, You can touch a fine white
sand ans fisherman’s village.
The
front of thong cave Bay there is a sunken Japanese

Thung Yor Waterfall. This waterfall is in village
No.11 chum Ko subdistrict. It’s far from Patue district
office to the northwest about 14 kilometers. (It has
a square laterite road 7 kilomenters) It is a small
waterfall that has many levels.

the rainingseason, it has a beautiful fallen water.
This look like a big fish scale that overlap. Other

Num Lod Cave. Nub Lod Cave is in villege No.3
Chum Ko Subdistrict. It’s far from Pa tue district
office to the north. Inside the cave there is a 300
meters long tunnel. Through to other side. The mouth
of cave all year. Besides, it has a beautiful stalactites
and stalagmites.
Thung
Ma-ha Bay. Thung Ma-ha Bay is shaped like the
half moon. On the east of this bay. There are many
islands such as Vieng Island. Phra Island. Rang Nok
Island. These Islands are taken refuge as fishemen’s
refuge from the wind.
Thung
Ma-ha Bay is a shallow water bay, so in some season
people can walk to other island near by
Koh
Rang nok. It’s far away from Koh vieng about 2
kilometers and it’s a swallow nest concession island.
Khao
Kram Cave. It’s at village No.7 Ban Moung thaew,
Khao chat Rat sub district, It’s very wide and deep
cave. Inside the cave, there are many beautiful stalac
tites and stalagmites brinking when light flashing.
A lot of bats live here. It is very convenient to
get there, cars can be parked in from of the cave.

Kapo Waterfall Park. This park is in Sului Subdistrict,
Thasae District near Phet Kasem Highway, at the 466-468
demarcation or 30 kilometers away from Chumphon city
center. This area of this park is 7,000 rai. The park
has a pleasant atmosphere of coolforest with a small
waterfall flowing. All year round. There are many
kinds of the plants, the residents of some birds kinds
of the animals. This park is suit able for relaxation.

Phrommuni
Cave. This cave is in salui aubdistrict, Thasae
District. It is about 7 kilometers away from phekasem
Highway. This cave has many rooms. The first room
is called “Tham Phra in which the monks of Phrommuni
Samnaksong have the track of the channel flowing from
the mountain which has been a natural phenomen on
for more than a thousand year inside.
The
next room is called “tham Rusi or Tham Phrommuni”
It is quite wide and the air can flow through it very
well, There is an effigy hermit which tentold bigger,
than human beings for the visitors to poy respect
inside.

Thep Chareon Temple or rup ror cave. This place
is in village No.4,Tha Kham Subdistricr, Thasae District,
It is 9 kilometers from the road leading to the city
center Turn left into an asphalt road and go on for
nomther 4 kilometers another one kilometer on a laterite
road Via Tha Kham Village to Thep Charon Temple or
Tham Rup Ror Temple near a cliff. Rup Ror Cave is
suituated on the hill. This hill has 8 caves. Mysterious
treasure maps. One is at AiTeh Cave which is at the
front, the other is at Phra Cave where contains many
styles of more than 200 Buddha images made of bronze
and concret, many laterites, In addition there It
is said that there are two is an on old Buddha image
which the imahe which the villagers call “ Luang Pou
Luk Muang is enshrined Inside the cave there are strikingly
beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

at the beginning of May every year, this cave is held
the traditional festivity “Open the door to the southern
border town. Pay respect tosadej Nai Khrom luang chumphon
Khet Udomsak There are many interesting activities
including the local cuttures and many kinds entertainments.
Na
Sarng Temple. This temple is situated at the bank
of Thasae river, Thasae Subdistrice, It is far away
from Thasae district to the northwest about 2 kilometers,
There is an antique church including is Miraculous
Moad Laying Buddha images around it, The most outstanding
is Miraculous Mode Laying Buddha image which was built
in 2491 His lengh is about 7 wah 2 sok ( about 15
meters). You will see the ancient arts about the other
bodes Buddha images at this temple.

Phor Tha Hin Charng Shrine. This shrine is in
Village No.4, Saluil Subdistrict, Thasae District,
by a hill foot next to Phetkasem Highway on the 453-454
kilometers demarcation . This shrine is scared placed
where a graven image is placed. Enshrined in it is
a diving figure revered by travelers.

Natural
Surroundings Along Thai-Mien Ma Border. Along
the path to kill 491. Thasae District lie mountains,

and the well. Tham Kaew’s interior contains trikingly
beautiful stalactites and stalag mites, in various
aniamal shapes.

Phra Yai Temple. This temple is in village No.1,
Wisai Naua Subdistrict. It is far away from Chumphon
City center to the South about 29 kilometers. Along
Route 41 near chumphon-Luang Suan District. There
is the Largest Buddha image of the southern provinces
estabished outdoor on the hill-top. It is accessible
by car. There are wide car-paking and beautiful scenic
park for relaxation and prying scared Buddha images

San of Sadej Nai Kromluang Chumphon Ket Undomsak.
This place is in village No.7, Had Sai Ree Subdistrict.

this place stands the Monument of Admiral Phra Boromawong
thir Kromluang Chumphon Khet Udomsak. It consists
of San of sadej Nai Kromluang Chumphon Khet Udomsak
is at the north of sai Ree beach. The Shrine faces
the sea. There is a museum which show about his biography
and things which he used. A large torpedo-ship named
the Royall Chumphon is also here. It is 68 meters
long and 6.55 meters wides. This ship was decommissioned
on November 26,1975. The Royal Thai Navy gave the
ship to chumphon province in 1979 After that it was
put near this monument.
Chao
Muang Hill. It’s located at village7. Had sai
Ree subdistrict. It’s near a shrine of khrom luang
chumphon Khet Udomsak, is about 22 kilometers form
Muang Chumphon . You can travel from Had Sai Ree beach
along an asphalt road to the sea about l kilometer
and turn right into another asphalt roud, and turn
left up the hill, and keep going about 400 meters
more, come to chao Mung Hill, and wide about 180 degrees,
because you can see beautiful secenery of Thai Gulf.
This place is cienery observation spot of the beautiful
south Chumphon Bay. There are a big good parking area
and full infrastructure, so it is very convenient
to come here. Moreover, near the see and worship the
Buddha image and Phra Thad Jedee Sri Chumphon wich
Somdetr Phra Sungkrarath (the highest monk) was the
president of the Founda tion ceremony.

Thung Makham Bay. This place is divided in to
outer Thung Makham Bay and inner Makham Bay, The bay
looks like aline of 2 semi-circles, Roughly in the
middle, lies a peninsula made up of big and small
rocks scattered around in amyterious fashion. This
peninsula serves as the bay divider. On the north
side lies the inner Thung Makham Bay Wose with sand
beach stretches along with a line of coconut tress
for about l kilometer .
Next
to this lies the outer Thung Makham Bay whose white
sand beach stretches for about 3 kilometers to wards
the south. The sea front is full of coconut tress
. On the southern most of the bay lies suwan kaha
waree Wongs Temple or Pong Pang Temple whose surrounding
areas are under coconut tress shed. At the back of
the temple lies a cliff measuring 30 meters wide and
80 meters long. It faces the sea.
Maprao
Island. This island is at village No.1. Had-Sai-Ree
Sub-district. It is the nearest of Had-Sai-Ree beach
about 1 kilometer away. It is a small island with
whie sand beach, complete nature. The westem part
of this island is about 50 meters long. It I also
a swallow’s nest conces sion island.

NGAM Island. It is at village No.6 Tha yang Subdistrict.
It is a medium Island, there are Ngam-Yai and Ngam-Noy,
far away from the shore about 17 kilometers.
It
is a swallow’s nest concession island. The most interesting
places are beautiful coral reefs and underwater caves
around the island. These island are best for diving
Matra Island. This island is at village No.1 Had-Sai-Sub-district,
far away from the shore about 10 kilometers. This
is a large island. It has a white sand beach. There
are two line of rodks, one is in the middle of the
west coast and the other is in the South of the island.
The
island is good for camping Apart from the coralon
the westcoast this island has “chick crabs” which
love to climb up trees and cry like a chick.
Thonglang
Island. This island is in village No.3, Had-Sai-Ree-Sub-district.
It’s area is approximately 3 Rai. You can go along
Highway 4119 (Chumphon-PakNum) about 17 kilometers
and pick up a small fishing boat from there. It takes

La Wa Island. This beach is small, it is about

World War 2 Young Soldiers Monument. It is on
the left side of Chumphon Pak nam Highway No. 4119,

invading Japanese army in 1941

Khor
Son Beach. Althoug the beach is a mixture of sand
and mud which is not quite suitable for swimming,
we will still recommened you this beach, because it
has many species of shellfixh, for example root-like
shell fish, Jar-like shell-fish, white shellfish and
small clams. You will enjoy yourselves picking living
shell fish on this beach.
Khor
Son Beach is accessible form Chumphon-paknam Road,
about 6 kilometers you turn left at the foot of tha
yang Brdge ti at asphalt road, Paknam Chumphon (old
route)and keep going for another 3 kilometers.

Pak-Nam-Chumphom
(Chumphon Mouth). It is about 13 kilometers from
the city center along Road No4119 and 4001 This place
is one of Chumphon Essential economic area. Going
through Chumphon Mouth out into the sea, you will
find many interesting islands.

Thalu
Island. This place is 13 kilometers away from
Chumphon mouth, It is a small limestone island. It
is an island which lies along the nort and the south,
and is 100 meters long . There are two caves over
river It is possible to swim a across from oneside
to the other side. There are accommodations on the
island, but tourists may stop to visit island to look
at coral and variety of marines flowers.
Paradonparp
Beach. The beach is 12 kilometers away from Chumphon
city city center, along highway 4119 and 4098 It is
a large beach parallel with the road full of coconut
trees along side and many good seafood restaurants.

Phadaeng
Beach. This beach is another 2 kilometers beyond
Paradomparp beach, This is an other interesting place
we would like you to visit. It has a red cliff 10
meters high From this cliff you can appreciate beauty
of the sea, and beaches in that area. Below the cliff
lies many attractive rocks.
Sai
Ree Beach. This beach is about 20 kilometers away
from Muneng Chumphon Municipality a long high way
no 4119 and 4099. It’s large beach with front sea
restaurants. A round the corner, there the Monument
of admiral Phra Boromawongthir Khromluang Chumphon
Khet Udomsak who found the Royal Thai Navy. This is
a scared place of the people in Chumphon and near
by province.
San Lak Muang. If you go back along high way
No 4098 and 4119 until you reach Chumphon town Hall,
on the oppositer side you will see chumphon SanLak
Muang, the scared symbol of the city construction
of people in Chumphon.

Chao
Fah Sala Loi Temple. The temple is about 8 kilometers
away from the municipal area. To get there you travel
along an asphlt road for 6 kilometers and continue,
you journey alond a laterits road for another 2 kilometers.
At this temple Lived Luang Pu Song-Chanthanaro, a
famous religious teacher who passed away at the age
of nearly 100 year and his body still remains undecayed.
This monk is revered by the people in Chumphon and
near by province.

Khao
Phang park. At Muang District-Tha sae District
border, Khao pang Park is a new resort of the city.
This place is around 12 kilometers away from chumphon
city center along chumphon-Tha Sae Road, the park
is cook with many trees. At the front, there are and
archway and a shrine of Sadej Naikhrom Luang Chumphon
Khet Udom Sad. The construction is quite beautiful.
There is a small hill at the back (measuring 800 Rai).
It is being turned into an observation spot and Army
Coloru Television Channe 17. You can go up the hill
to look at these scenery. It will take 15 minutes
by car, you have to go round the back by the sign
board of the Army Televesion Channel.

Phra Thart Thum Khawan Muang Temple. The temple
is in village No.4, Napho sup-district. It is 2 kilometers
away from Sawee district and 48 kilometers away from
the city center. If you travel along Chumphon-Lang
Suan Road, up to the 375 kilometers, demarcatuion
and turn right into an asphalt road, then go on for
another 500 meters. You will arrive at the temple.
It is a temple, is Thumayuth’s Sect. The temple surroundings
are kept cool with trees. The tourists interest is
the pagoda where the Buddha’s relics are enshrined.
The pagoda is on a small limestone hill. The large
lawn around the pogoda can beused as and observation
spot.

Phra Thart Sawee Temple. This temple is near Sawee
River. It is 47 kilometers away from the city center
along Highway No41.0 around Chumphon Lang Suan part.
According to legend, Phra Chao Sri Thamma Sokaraj
and his army to tooka rost in Sawee District and found
a strange occurrence, that is, albion crowsa and other
types of crows flocked togerher and cried above the
debris from a ruined structure, His Majesty therefore
issued and order to debris. After re moving the debris
they found a large pagoda. When they dug the ground
deeper they found a jar containing the Buddha’s relics,
relics. SO, His Mfajesty had his men built a new pagoda
over the old one. The construction could have taken
place in Ayuthaya Era. In 1916 a repair was done.
A
new structure was made over the old one. At the front
of the temple next to Sawee River stands a shrine
where a human-size effigy, is kepy. People in sawee
District call this shrine “Sarn Phra Sua Muang”
Sai
Ree Sawee Beach. It is the most beautiful beach
in this district. It is in village No.8,Tha Hin sub-district.
It is a large sand beach paralle to long line of many
coconut trees. This beach is good for relaxation.
Tourists can get trere easily by car.
Travel
along Highway 41, chumphon Sawee Route. Turn left
into an asphalt road, Sawee-Bor Kha Route and go on
for about 6 kilometers. Then, turn left in to a laterite
road, go on for 6 more kilometers.
Thip
Preeda Cave. The area is a rocky mountain with
a stream flowing pust the front. This mountain has
about 40 beautiful caves, some of which contains pools.
These caves are in Village 2, Khao Khai Sub-district,
Sawee District. Tourists can easily get through Chumphon-Swee
Route up to khao Beep intersection. Thung Toko District.
Then, go slong Khao Hkao Thalu Route for about 16
kilometers, and turn left into a laterits road and
for 4 kilometers more until you arrive at Huay Kaew
intersection. Then turn left into a village road and
travel for 6 kilometers more, you will be at thip
Preeda Cave, The total distance from the city center
is 70 kilometers
Thub
Charng Waterfall. This is a beautiful waterfall
in Khlong Phrao National Park, Village No.5, Tako
Sub-district, Thung Tako District. It is suwounded
with many trees. Many aninals live here. To get three,
you travel along Highway 41 until you come to a pollic
booth at sammai Lang Suan district. Then, turn right
into a laterite road and go on for another 15 kilometers.
The waterfall is about 65 kilometers away from the
city center.
Chan
Rain Cave. This is an old cave in village 10.
Tako Sub-district away from Tako District to the south
about 25 kilometers, The cave’s interior has many
besutiful stalactites and stagmites. This cave was
proved that it was the shelter of Pre Historic human
beings.
Maprao
Island. This is a small island with white sand
beach (about 2 hours by boat) It has a beautiful scenery
and it is good place for fishing as well.
Arunothat
Beach. This is a large beach in Paknam Tako Sub-District,
Village No.1, It is about 6 kilometers long. Next
to it stand rows of pine trees. Around the corner
stands the Shrine of Sadei Krom Luang Chumphon Khet
Udomsak. Around the shrine there is carcall of demorchelys
coriacea inside a glass frame. There are rows of coconut
trees along the beachup to the northern part. There
is a famous place named Chumphon Sunny Beach where
you can stay and charter s boat to the island in front
of the bay such as Pithak, Khram, Roundbanthad and
Maprao Island. To get to this beach, travel along
Highway 41 for about 50 kilometers. Turn left at khao
Beep Paknam Tako Intersection and on for another 10
kilometers
Somdej
Phra Srinaskarin Chumphon Park. This park is in
village No.8, Thai Phla Sub-district. It is about
4 kilometers from Lang Suan District. The park is
accessible by car. It is an important Part of Lang
Suan District and a good place for relaxation.

Khao Ngoen Cave. This cave is in the same area
as the park. Somdej phra Chulachomklao Chaoynhua graciously
had a pagoda built in front of it. When the visited

from the shore to the Island. It is very comfortable
to go to this Island.
Khor
Khao Beach. This beach is in Na Phaya, Sub-district,
far away from the south of Lang Suan District about
15 kilometers. To get there, you can go by bus along
an asphalt road for about 5 kilometers and on a laterite
road for another 10 kilometers.
It
is a clean and beautiful beach suitable for toutists
nature and the sea. Next to the beach stands a hill
covered with greenery. Thammanimit Monk Residence
(Khor Khao Temple) is situated here. In the middle
of these rich natural surroundings, there are a large
Buddha effigy and the largest Kuan Im effigy in the
southern, region.
Lang
Suan Mouth. It is in Pak-nam, Sub-district about
7 kilometers away from Lang Suan District office.
It is a fishermen community. This place has a ferry
service and a fish pier. On the beach, restaurants
and resorts are avilabled for many tourists who need
to stay overnight.
Huay
Muang, Pha Ngam, Waterfalls. Two waterfalls are
in Huay Muang Village, Nakha Sub-diatrict They are
about 65 kilometers from the city center, To get there,
you travel along Chumphon-Lang Suan Road.
Turn
Right near Nai Muang-village, 10 kilometers before
reaching Lang Suan District, Keep going along a laterite
road for another 20 kilometers. The waterfall are
beautiful medium size. It is worth to spend your time
in these waterfalls because of its beauty.
Hin-Charng-Srt
Waterfall. It is at village No.6 Wang-Ta-kor,Sub
district, far away from Chumphon district to the South,
along Aisa Road No.41 about 80 kilometers. Turn right
to the cross road to
Pha-toh
District about 5 kilometers. And turn to the way for
“Banhong Ra School”. Along to the end of this road
about 5 kilometers. It is also original resource of
Lang Suan River. It is 20 meters High. At the top.
There is a big pool, So there is some water flows
all year around.
It
is very beautiful especially in the rain season. Below
it there are many big-small rocks.
People
believed that. There was “Chau Mae Takian” stayed
at this waterfall. The tourist who wants to go here,

Tum
Khao P lu Hot spa. It is village number 2. Suan
Taeng Sub-district. 7 kilometers away from the district
center to the south a long Highway 41 go along Phet
kaseam Road at the cross road there is a sign. It

the most popular tourists spots in lamae district.
It happens in nature. There are 3 hot spas here. There
are many kinds of trees. In the vicinity there are

Kaeng
Bokfal. It’s in the middle of Bokfai canal. It
is far from Pha Toh district about to kms. Along a
laterite road. If you want to trabel by rafting from
Haew Loam Waterfall, it will take about 2 hours. Despite
taking longer time, you can admire nature better.
There
are many big and small rocks emerge from the water.
The sound of water striking rocks in the wilderness
of the hill and will make you feel so happy that you
wish to return many times.
Pha
Toh Rafting. It is a nature and environment conservative
travel. The tourists will appreciate the natural beauty,

cold stream has rocks at both sides.

point and take 3 hours to raft along Lang Suan river,

2 From Ban Nai Yuan village No.6 Pha Toh district
office, go along Lang Suan Rachagrood road. Turn left
at Ban Park Lek vullage no a Pha Toh district, along
laterite road to about 11 kms. To the starting point
and take 3 hour to raft along Lang Suan river.
Emerging
Lotus. Emerging Lotus will grow in Maditernanion
forest especially at Haew Loam Waterfall, Pha Toh
district that you cannot see from another place. Its
belief that the emerging lotus will bloom to conserve
the path of Buddha while boring. It’s about 24 inches
high from the ground. The stigmas of this lotus are
about 18 niches.
It
blooms only once a year for 5 days and make a loud
noise while blooming the remind all animals such as
deers, boars and turtles come to eat the blooming
lotus. Someone look it to sell which can make more
benefit for 16 inches diameter in 1000 baht. A small
piece of dried emerging lotus mixed with hot water
or white gin can make you more energetic and healthy,
