Today
there is a diversity and complexity of diving equipment like never
before. No longer is it possible or acceptable to soak in vinegar,
liberally coat in grease and tweak until it seems ok.
Modern
equipment requires expertise, practical skill and understanding
of basic engineering principles and familiarity with various equipment
types, both past and present. Having this knowledge, AquaTech
was formed with the sole purpose of meeting the growing need for
a professional, dedicated scuba service repair center on Koh Tao.
AquaTech
is a specialized maintenance outfit ready to meet this challenge.
About Us
Certifying
more divers per year then Australia, the tiny paradise island
of Koh Tao quickly became a scuba diving mecca, with just one
thing missing…AquaTech! Combine this with the years of diving
experience we have and the numerous manufacturer courses (Scubapro,
Aqualung, Mares, Bauer, Coltrl Sub…) we have completed, AquaTech
was formed to fill the growing need for a professional scuba service
and repair center on Koh Tao.
In
addition, we have specialized training from ASSET (Association
of Scuba Service Engineers & Technicians). The ASSET association
is internationally recognized by IDEST (The Inspectorate For Diving
Equipment Servicing & Testing) and SITA (The Scuba Industry
Trade Association).
Safety
First
Diving
is unique. It is one the few recreational activities that relies
on life support equipment yet has an exceptional safety record.
This is due to the high development and production
standards met by the leading scuba manufacturers. You can play
a round of golf with rusted clubs but you wouldn't jump in the
water with a rusty reg, so its no wonder that manufacturers recommend
regular servicing by trained technicians. Here at AquaTech we
guarantee that your equipment will be serviced to manufacturer
recommendations.

Specialized Tools
At
AquaTech we have a full range of specialized tools to service
your scuba diving equipment. Regular Visual and Hydrostatic testing
and maintenance will increase the lifespan of your tanks and specially
imported Go No Go gauges will ensure the integrity of cylinder
and valve threads.
Specialized
tools will ensure that your equipment is expertly taken care of
and set to manufacturer standards.

Know
Your Equipment
A regulator is designed to take high pressure air (from the tank)
and deliver it to the diver at a pressure equal to the surrounding
depth. To achieve this, the air must go through two pressure changes.

1.
1st Stage
The 1st stage takes high pressure air from the tank (200-300 bar)
and reduces it to an intermediate pressure of approximately 9-10
bar.
2.
LPI (Low Pressure Inflator)
The LPI supplies air to your BCD (Buoyancy Control Device) allowing
you to stay positively buoyant at the surface and neutrally buoyant
at depth.
3.
2nd Stage / Octopus
The 2nd stage reduces intermediate pressure from the 1st stage
to an ambient pressure (surrounding pressure) so that you can
breathe safely. The Octopus is an alternate air supply should
your 2nd stage primary malfunction or should your buddy run out
of air.
4.
SPG (Submersible Pressure Gauge)
High pressure air is fed to the SPG giving you an accurate reading
of the amount of air (in bar) available in your tank. This device
can also serve as a console for other life support devices such
as depth gauges and dive computers.
5.
2nd Stage / Primary
The 2nd stage reduces intermediate pressure from the 1st stage
to an ambient pressure (surrounding pressure) so that you can
breathe safely. This is your primary air supply source.
