Koh Samui is a beautiful diving island in the Gulf of Thailand and offers the most exciting snorkeling and diving in Koh Samui. Nice beaches, crystal clear water and 27-30 C. (85 F) in the water. We have many reefs and coral formations and lots of marine life.

You can spot Reef sharks, Blacktip sharks regularly, Groupers, Turtles. And 3-10 meters Whale sharks and many more different life what the sea can offer. Diving in koh Samui for certified divers and beginners we have daily trips to Gulf of Thailand’s top dive sites. Our divemasters and instructors will guide you in small groups and always put safety first.

Our International Instructors. have experience to teach all the diving courses. We offer PADI scuba diving courses from Beginner to Professional divers.

The first full Padi diving certification is Openwater Diver Course and takes three or four days. For those who don't have time, we have two day Scuba Diver Course (Half openwater diver course) You still get a diving certification. Silent divers always have small groups for more fun and safety. And with all courses, you get a PADI GOLD CERTIFICATION. The most prestige certification you can get. We are awarded from Padi. Not sure if a full-blown course is for you? Take our popular Discover Scuba Diving. It's a one day adventure diving in Koh Samui for those who can’t spend 3 to 4 days. You get a diploma after the diving and can count it towards a certification at a later time. See if you like it and have fun. We do practice in shallow water first and then we do two real scuba dives with tanks, jacket (BCD), regulator, wetsuit, fins and mask.

Safety Tips When Diving

Before diving.
Silent Divers - Koh Samui - Thailand1. Be fit for diving, don’t dive if you feel sick.
2. If you're taking any medication consult a doctor first.
3. Good sleep and no alcohol the day before diving.
4. Refresh course if not dive for several months.
5. Always carry oxygen with you.
6. Plan a day free from diving, after 3-4 days diving.

During the diving.

2. Take in to account current and rough sea.
3. Carry a safety balloon and use it before you ascend or when diving in shallow water.
4. Do not yo-yo dive?
5. Ascend rate not faster then 18 meters per minute.
6. Always do a safety stop, at least 3 minutes at 5 meters.
7. Never ever hold your breath when ascending.
8. Deflate your BCD (Jacket) when ascending, inflate first when you have reached the surface.

After the diving.

2. Don’t fly for at least 18 hrs/ multiple dives wait 24 hrs.
3. If you have any symptom of decompression illness, sickness after a dive, even if it many hours after diving. Contact nearest hospital. Koh Samui have they own Re Compression Chamber and Silentdivers are an proud official sponsor as well..

Silent Divers - Koh Samui - ThailandIs a one day adventure to Koh Tao with speedboat. We practice 15-20 minutes in shallow water. Then we go for a 30-40 minute dive. After lunch we do our second dive. Entry from the boat like James Bond 007. We do this trip daily in small groups. Includes all equipment, lunch, soft drinks, water,
transfer and Instructor. Minimum age 10 yrs old. The oldest diver we've had was 70 yrs old. So every one who has dreamed about diving can do this. It's a real adventure for a day. Diving in Koh Samui are fun.

How We Can Protect Our Corals And Reefs.
Silent Divers - Koh Samui - Thailand1. Don’t use anchors on the dives sites, attach
a permanent buoy if possible.
2. Practice with your buoyancy often.
3. Maybe take a buoyancy course or a refresh dive.
4. Attach your gear so you don’t have loose equipment that dangles on the reef or sea bottom.
5. Leave your gloves home if you don’t dive in cold water.
6. Underwater cameras and videos destroy a lot of reefs, even professional divers are unaware of buoyancy problems when using underwater equipment.
Silent Divers - Koh Samui - Thailand7. Absolutely don’t touch anything underwater or take anything with you. Some shells and corals are very poisonous as well.
8. They who are snorkeling must be aware to. Don’t touch or stand on any coral.

Just follow the main road of Chaweng beach road, past the Green Mango and the Time Square then the shop is on your right side a 100 meters forward. You can easily recognize our logo on the window of the shop. Next to hotel Blue Lagoon or 150 meters (450 feet) in to the city Chaweng from SIH (Samui International Hospital) if you came from the North. (in to the city Chaweng from North)

Sail Rock - Diving site Koh samuiNorth of Koh Samui between the islands of Koh Tao and Phangan is the internationally renowned dive site of Sailrock. Only 15 meters above the water, the structure extends 40 meters below the surface. The main attraction of Sailrock is a naturally formed 15 meter high underwater dive wall or chimney. Divers can ascend from 18 meters up the chimney wall to the surface, making this a unique diving experience. Visibility is usually excellent at around 30 meters. The structure it self is pocked with small holes which are ideal homes for White Eyed and Yellow margin moray eels, as well as large sea Anemones. Sightings of large schools of Tuna, huge Barracudas and many more fish Whale-sharks 5-10 m can be seen on occasion.

There are numerous dive sites in and around Koh Tao, which is a tropical paradise and white sandy beaches. Here the water visibility ranges from 15-30m and includes the popular dive spots of Chumporn and Southwest Pinnacles, Nang Yuan, Green Rock, White Rock and Red Rock and 15 sites more. The waters around Koh Tao are home to an abundant range of marine life, including Brracuda, Tuna, Snapper, Sea Turtles, Reef and Blacktip Sharks and of course 5-10 meters huge Whale sharks.

Bubblemaker Course (1/2-1 day) "Include a Certificate Of Recognition"

8 year olds can now try scuba diving. We can arrange to give your kids an adventure they will always remember. One of our instructors can show your kids around the shallow waters of the Gulf of Thailand, to see the coral reefs and the fish life. Just the thrill of breathing underwater will entertain and fascinate them. At the depth of 2 meters are the corals so colorful and plenty of fish.

Minimum age are 8 years and maximum depth are 2 meters.

 

Introductory Diving (1/2-1 day) "Include a Certificate Of Recognition"

At Silentdivers diving school our introductory dives are designed to take you below the surface to experience the joys and wonderment of the beautiful coral reef with its abundance of fish and marine life.

No experience is necessary for this dive, we only need a few hours of your time. Our experienced instructors will take you below the surface of the Gulf of Thailand that you will find enjoyable and practically effortless. Once below the surface you will encounter hundreds of species of brightly colored fish and a wide variety of corals.

After completing your Introductory dive you will be eligible to join our Instructors on the boat for further dives, where we take you out to new and enchanting dive sites such as the Koh Tao or Sail Rock.

This first adventure into the underwater world is just the beginning. To get a license to dive around the world you will need an Open Water Diver Course.

Minimum age are 10 yrs and maximum depth are 12 meters.

 

Scuba Diver Course (2 days) "Include Dive Manual & RDP"

Scuba diver course is a two days beginner course, It's the same contents as an openwater diver course, but you learn about 70 % of the theory and the pool training. and you do two dives instead of four dives in the sea. After the course you get a certification you can use all over the world with two restrictions maximum depth are 12 meter and you must dive with a professional diver as an Divemaster or higher rang. Most of the the dive trips or tours you get an guide anyway and around 8-12 meter is it so good diving anyway. If you only can or want to spend two days of diving this is a nice adventure.

You can very easily upgrade to openwater diver certificate any where in the world. The scuba diver certification are also an international license. Normally you need two more days education. It's no time limit for the upgrade.

Minimum age 10 yrs and maximum depth are 12 meters.

 

Openwater Diver Course (3-4 days) "Include Dive Manual & RDP"

The Openwater diver course is designed as an entry level course for people who have little or no diving experience. Completion will allow you to dive the world in areas and under conditions similar to those in which you were trained.

Additional training would be required for participation in Specialty diving activities, in other geographical areas, and after periods of inactivity.

Academic training is held in our well equipped, cool classrooms using video, slides and whiteboard. If everybody prefers part of the course can be done sat in the sun in the College courtyard.

Skill development dives are conducted from the beach in front of the College in the warm clear water of the Gulf of Thailand surrounded by tropical fish and coral.

Open water dives are made from one of our boats or from the beach. You go to suitable, new and enchanting dive sites to enjoy the abundance of marine life and to complete your training.

At the start of the course all candidates will be tested on their ability to swim a distance of 200m and to tread water for ten minutes. A Medical Questionnaire is filled in on arrival, if any answers are 'yes' then a doctors examination is required. This form is downloadable if you want to check with your own doctor first.

Prior to any in water training every candidate is required to read and fill in a Liability Release form. Before certification as an open water diver the Standard Safe Diving Practices form, will also need to be filled in.

Minimum age 10 yrs and maximum depth are 18 meters. Depends of age what depths you allow for.

 

Advanced Openwater Course (2 days) "Include Dive Manual & Slate"

This course is designed for divers who have completed the PADI Openwater Course or any other entry level diving course.

The course focuses on expanding your diving experiences and building upon the knowledge from your Openwater course.

We will take you on five dives (two core & three electives, see list below) to introduce you to the advantage of diving at night, or in a photography dive and how to plan those dives when you want to go a bit deeper.

Emergency first Responder Course (1 day) "Include EFR Manual"

Prior to rescue certification you must have completed a sanctioned course in CPR within the last two years. (PADI Emergency First Responder Course will meet this requirement)
Non divers are more then welcomed as well. It's always good to be updated with skills to help other people, you also learn CPR.

(No minimum age)

 

Rescue Diver Course ( 3 days) "Include Rescue Dive Manual"

The PADI rescue diver course is the first point in your diver training when we start to focus your attention on how to assist others and how to prevent and handle diving emergencies.

During this three day course we will provide you with detailed academic presentations and in depth training of Rescue Diving Techniques.

During the course the following theory topics and water skills will be covered.

Water Skills
- Swimming & non swimming assists.
- Panicked-diver responses.
- Underwater problems.

- Egress and First Aid for diving accidents.

Prerequisites: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent course. Minimum age 12 yrs.

 

Divemaster Course (3-4 weeks) "Include Dive Manuals"

PADI’s first level of professional qualification, the Divemaster course will give you the ability to organize and conduct diving activities.
This course is normally a prerequisite to work in most areas as a diveguide. We will work with you to develop your personal water skills and academic knowledge of diving and during this course we will cover the following academic topics. For which there are multiple choice exams, each requiring a pass mark of 75%.

- Supervising Certified Divers.
- Assisting with Student Divers in Training.
- Skills and Environment.
- Equipment.
- Physiology.
- Recreational Dive Planner & wheel.
- Physics.

You will spend your time at the college working with our experienced Instructors receiving hands on training and assisting with dive courses and guiding. This practical experience you will find invaluable.

You will also be required to complete the following exercises: 400 m swim, 800 m snorkel swim, 15 minute floating and 100 m tired diver tow.

Diver rescue assessment : look, listen & feel for breathing , open airway and give two slow rescue breaths, call for help, use an effective rescue breathing technique, protect the victim's airway with no or few interruptions, maintain regular ventilations with no or few interruptions, resume any ventilations with two slow rescue breaths, perform the rescue without any assistance, upon surfacing, establish victim's buoyancy.

Basic Scuba skills, 18 skill circuit.

Stress Test. This is conducted with a equipment exchange with a buddy while buddy breathing.

Prerequisites : PADI Advanced & Rescue diver course or equivalent, Proof of 20 logged dives, 60 dives required by certification,

Age 18 yrs. Submit a medical examination from a Physician stating fitness for diving completed in the last 12 months.

The course can be reduced to about 3 weeks if necessary (home study required) or extended to about 4-6 weeks if you want.

If you want to do this course in the shortest time then you must have read the Divemaster Manual and completed the Knowledge Reviews from it. You must have completed the Diving Knowledge Study Workbook and practicing your waterman ship skills.

(Prerequisites: PADI Rescue Diver Course or equivalent course. Minimum age 18 yrs)

 

Specialty Courses (2 days) "Include Specialty Dive Manual"

Padi specialty courses are a great way to refine your skills and define the kind of diver you are. The more time you spend honing your skills and having fun underwater, the more opportunities you’ll have to make discoveries of your own.

Choose between
- Enriched Air Course. (Also Include Three Diving Tables)
- Under Water Photo Course.
- Deep Diver Course.
- Navigator Diver Course.
- Peak Performance buoyancy Course.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent course.
( Equivalent = Entry level certification with at least four Open Water Dives)

Minimum age between 10-15 yrs and maximum depth are between 18-40 meters.
Depends of age and course what depths you allow for.

(If between the age of 10-18 then all forms must be signed by a parent/guardian as well)


Refresh Course (1/2-1 day) "We lend you a Dive Manual"

Refresh your skills if not dived for several months or want to refresh the skills in the PADI open water diver course, confined water training with some theory. Or combined with a days diving.
