Welcome to Thailand's newest diving club, Island Dive Club @ Koh Tao Island Resort, Koh Tao’s New Standard in Diver Training!

Island Dive Club is a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) International Resort situated in the heart of Koh Tao’s Sairee Beach. We specialize in customer-focused, quality dive courses that get you diving right the first time by taking the time to ensure you receive the personal attention you deserve. We do not guarantee you the cheapest course, what we will guarantee is quality diver education at an affordable price.

Our resort, Koh Tao Island Resort, offers a full range of accommodation to suit your budget from cheap fan bungalows suitable for most backpackers to modern Air Conditioned Bungalows, also suitable for families.

At Island Dive Club we also have an undying love for life and the environment, which is why we are proud to be a DAN Asia Pacific Promoter, a SSS Recompression Chamber Network 2 star member (out of 3 stars), and a Project A.W.A.R.E GO ECO Dive Operator.

Koh Tao Island Resort
The open space of Koh Tao Island Resort provides a relaxing sanctuary in the heart of Sairee beach. Everything you may need is within easy walking distance of the resort, with Sairee Village only a short stroll away to the north and Mae Haad a 20min walk to the south. The resort offers a full range of accommodation from basic Thai huts with fans (perfect for the backpacker) to stylish Thai bungalows with A/C. Absorb the beauty of your surroundings right from your bungalows own balcony or whilst laying on the beach that lies on your doorstep.

After a day of sun, sea and sand nothing beats indulging in your favourite Thai or Western dishes in our open-air restaurant or ‘decompressing’ over a cocktail and marveling in a Sairee sunset from our Island Beach Bar.

Non-diving days are also special here at Koh Tao Island Resort easily filled by snorkeling directly off our beach, catching up with family and friends with our highspeed wireless internet facility or unwinding with a traditional Thai massage in our open-air, massage hut right on the beach (please ensure you leave an adequate interval after diving before receiving a massage – remember, a massage after diving could increase your risk of Decompression Sickness!)... Facilities
Island Dive Club has everything you could want in a dive center. We have a very spacious and welcoming reception area with cold drinks available for purchase, free tea, coffee and water, and plenty of sitting areas and resource materials for your use and enjoyment. Adjacent to this you will find our dive shop that stocks a range of quality snorkeling and diving equipment and accessories. You will find all of our facilities are on-site for your convenience.
Our primary classroom is equipped with Air-Conditioning, extensive PADI training materials and modern teaching aids like television and DVD player. We have many other teaching areas, including a second indoor teaching area that is currently being updated, but that also doubles as a lounge area when not in use, and why not enjoy the view of the sea from our outdoor classroom that allow you to relax and enjoy the island atmosphere. We hope to setup another outdoor classroom in the coming months right on the beach!

Our well equipped service room is for maintaining basic equipment and minor repairs. All of our major servicing is regularly completed by qualified Aquatec technicians that operate on the island. Our compressor and equipment rooms are all conveniently located at the rear of the building close to our equipment rinse tank. Our undercover, circular rinse tank has 3 separate basins so that the dirty bits can’t contaminate the regulators and BCD’s and we also use a disinfectant to hygienically clean our wetsuits, fins, regulators, and masks. Adjacent to this we also provide outdoor freshwater showers and western-style amenities for your convenience and comfort.

Equipment
Not only will you look great and feel comfortable using our customer rental equipment, but you can also relax and feel confident with the knowledge that our customer rental equipment is of the uppermost standard for a dive center. We use Aqualung BCD’s and Regulators for comfort and ease of breathing, Technisub fins, a range of masks to suit yourself (we also have prescription masks available for rent) and our 3mm shorty-style wetsuits will help to keep you snug throughout your whole dive. All of our equipment is meticulously cared for and regularly serviced so that all you have to worry about on your dive is how much fun your having!

We're also equipped with Junior sizes for Kids! We stock Junior size BCD's, split fins, masks, mouth pieces for regulators, and 7 Litre Tanks for ease of use and comfort for even the smallest child. See our Kids page for more information about childrens diving programs

We have a specialized compressor to fill our tanks that has a built in air-conditioning unit, which means that our air is drier and therefore cleaner (less contaminants). IDC was the FIRST, and currently is still the ONLY dive center on Koh Tao with an Air Quality certification. This means we ensure you always have good, clean, quality breathing air in your tank.

Required Documents For Diving Courses

For All Diving Courses, students must have a Medical Statement completed. Please have these filled in before your dive course commences.
For any Non-Diving courses (Emergency First Response, Enriched Air Nitrox with NO dives) it is not nessecary to worry about the Medical Statement.

Childrens Diving Programs
Are you tired of missing out on diving because your kids are on vacation with you? Why not get them certified? If they are at least 8 years old, we can get them diving in the Bubble Maker program. If they are 10-14 years old, they can get certified as a Junior diver.

We can provide your children with the latest in diving equipment for children. We have special Junior size BCD's and Tanks (7L) along with Junior Fins, Masks, and small mouth pieces.

Children between the ages of 10 & 11 can become a Junior Open Water Diver but are limited to 12 meters depth and must be accompanied by a certified diver who is of legal age.

Children between the ages of 12-14 can become Junior Open Water & Junior Advanced Open Water Divers but must be accompanied by a certified diver who is of legal age. When they reach the age of 15, they can complete another certification card for submission to PADI and then will become fully qualified divers with no additional requirements.

Beginners

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING
Never tried diving before? Why not Discover Scuba Diving! This 1 day course is focused on getting you wet and having fun while learning the basics of scuba diving. After a brief orientation with one of our qualified instructors in the morning and a session in shallow water, you’ll find yourself between 2-12 meters of underwater bliss!

SCUBA DIVER
Already tried Scuba or just know that you want to do it? Why not get Certified! The basic Scuba Diver course gives you a diving ticket to a maximum depth of 12 meters in just 2 days (this certification means that any dives you make after the course, will have to be done with a professional).

OPEN WATER DIVER
The internationally famed PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular and highly recognised entry-level diving certification. Over several days you will attain the foundational knowledge & skills necessary to dive independently with a buddy. Your diving ability grows rapidly over this course through a combination of in-class sessions, DVD presentations, self-study, confined-water skill development and four open water dives! This course is an all-inclusive course that gives you an internationally recognised certification and experience to 18 meters.

Adventure Dives & The Advanced Open Water Course
For those certified as Open Water divers, Adventure Dives are a single dive that provide you with the additional knowledge and skills to discover that new type of dive experience. Adventure dives credit toward the Advanced Open Diver Course and/or corresponding specialty diver course. There are a wide range of Adventure dives including the Deep Dive, Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) Dive, Naturalist Dive and Navigation Dive to a Night Dive or Boat Dive.

Complete 5 adventure dives including the Deep and the Navigation dives and you have earned your Advanced Open Water Diver certification. The flexibility of this course is that you can complete it in a minimum of 2 days or if you are short of time or money you can accumulate your 5 Adventure Dives at different times and even in different geographical places! The Advanced Open Water Course develops on the foundational knowledge and skills you mastered in your initial Open water training giving you more confidence and opportunities as a recreational diver and furthermore, extends your experience and certification beyond 18m to a maximum depth of 30m! Completing your Deep Dive will enable you to enjoy all the wonders of two of our premier dive sites, Chumphon Pinnacle or South West Pinnacle.

Emergency First Response

Emergency First Response (EFR)
Are you prepared to be of assistance if the unexpected were to occur?
What if there is a car accident, or if someone were to have a heart attack or fall off a ladder and no one else is around to help – ARE YOU PREPARED??? Emergency First Responders are Medic First Aid and CPR providers with the skills to provide immediate first aid until emergency medical services arrive.
In this comprehensive one-day course you’ll learn how to identify certain medical problems and the steps and techniques for handling them. From basic cuts to spinal injuries, marine life injuries to starting a heart using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), the Emergency First Response course is a must for divers and non-divers alike.
