Welcome to BIG FISH Dive Resort's website! Big Fish
Dive Resort is located on the beach at beautiful
Chalok Baan Kao Bay, on the island of Koh Tao, in
the Gulf of Thailand.
Koh
Tao, famous for it's warm, crystal clear waters

Join our professional dive team on our fully equipped
dive boat (with GPS & oxygen onboard) for
your Koh Tao diving adventures! The Big Fish dive
team includes highly experienced instructors from
around the world who work hard to assure your
training is safe and enjoyable.
We
offer quality PADI courses in English, Thai, German,
Swedish, Dutch, Danish, French, Finnish and Japanese.
Be
A Lounge Lizard
When you aren't diving, dining, sunning, or swimming,
you can lounge in the hammock that hangs outside
your bungalow, as you watch the sun set on the
gulf of Thailand.
The
Complete Experience
Big Fish Dive Resort also offers both Thai and
European cuisine at the Big Fish Restaurant. Other
facilities include; , satellite television, all
night electricity, international telephone and

Koh
Tao Dive Sites
Koh Tao is blessed with a rich underwater fauna
rivaling that of the Indian Ocean.
The
waters around Koh Tao is part of The Gulf of Thailand
which again is part of The South China Sea.
Some
of the best dive sites on Koh Tao, which you must
dive, if you come here includes the offshore pinnacles:
Chumporn Pinnacle and Southwest Pinnacle.
Other
great dives include Shark Island for a fantastic
bio diversity, Laem Thian for exciting swim throughs
and tunnels and Green Rock for it's army of Yellow
Margin Triggerfish.
The
Twins has it's resident Lion and Trigger fish
and Lighthouse Bay offers wreck diving.

Whaleshark
Whaleshark is often spotted here in the months between
may and june and again from August on thru October.
A
fantastic creature, a gentle giant - and certainly
a once in a life time experience should you encounter
one while diving here on Koh Tao.
Triggerfish
The Titan Triggerfish is bulldog of the underwater
world. Always on the lookout for a fight, you
won't want to venture to close - but rather observe
it from afar. Nevertheless, a beautiful and interesting
character on the reef.
Angelfish
The Blueringed Angelfish is one of a kind. Always
spotted in pairs, it is said that it mates for
life. Once thing is certain - it's stunning vibrant
colours are beautiful to behold.

Schooling
jacks
The Schooling Jacks are a common sight should you
swim a little bit off Chumporn and Southwest Pinnacle.
They congregate in large numbers to protect themselves
then venture in for a bit of a clean by the common
Cleaner Wrasse.
Batfish
The Batfish are a curious sort. Often approaching
divers, checking them out. They are often seen
schooling in large numbers off Chumporn Pinnacle.
Bannerfish
As with the Angelfish, the Bannerfish are also
always spotted pairing up. Actually part of the
Butterflyfish family, the Bannerfish are a colourful
addition to the reef with their vibrant colours
and their long bannerfin.
Bluespotted
Stingray
A nocturnal creature, the Stingray is closely
related to the sharks.There is a certain mystique
about these creatures, probably revolving around
the fact that they have a poisonous spine on their
lower back.

is a performance based program. It takes roughly
3-4 days to complete and is an excellent,
safe and stress-free introduction to the underwater
world. It consists of theory, shallow water

PADI Advanced Open
Water Course
is a hands on course. No long class room sessions,
after a review of the independent reading
assignments - it's simply fun application
while diving. After 2 days and 5 dives you
will be able to take on the world - diving
that is. We like independent and safe divers,

in a fun way. The course includes an obligatory
deep and navigation dive followed by your
choice of 3 elective dives, which are: naturalist,
photography, diver propulsion vehicle, multi-level,
night, fish identification, search and recovery
and peak performance buoyancy.

you'll learn to recognize stress in yourself and

Chalok
Baan Kao
By night or day, Chalok Baan Kao is a stunning
sight. Emerald green water, beautiful white beach,
sloping hills and on a clear day - a view of Angtong
National Marine Park. A great place to spend a
few days relaxing and diving.

Sunset
The Big Fish Restaurant is a perfect spot to end
a great days diving. Right on the beach, it offers
a selection of the finest thai and european dishes
and your choice of freshly barbecued sea food.
