Tao plus great fun diving on more than 30 dive sites.
Dive with us into the warm clear waters in the gulf
of Thailand. Explore coral reefs and immerse yourself

on Koh Tao whilst a whale shark cruises along is NOT
a dream! Come to Asia Divers and discover scuba diving.
500kms
south of Bangkok in the gulf of Thailand, the tiny island
of Koh Tao with its natural beauty and charm provides
everything for a fantastic scuba diving vacation or
even your first scuba diving lesson. Not long ago, Koh
Tao was still unexposed to tourism, but word spread
quickly amongst travellers around Thailand and our little
island fast became Thailand's most popular scuba diving
destination.
As more travellers arrived so did the first sets of
scuba diving equipment, the first PADI Dive Schools
and PADI IDC Centers, some restaurants opend. Today,
there are more than 40 dive centers operating on Koh
Tao and the island boast more than 25 beautiful dive
sites within close proximity that can suit every standard
of diver with shallow protected bays for total beginners
to deeper pinnacles. Have a look at the divesites here.
With
more and more wrecks being discovered in the area, some
at depths of up to 60metres why not challenge your skills
and learn to deep dive by taking a look at our Technical
Training Course. And if you are still in for more, take
a look at our Koh Tao Diving Instructor Training
Whichever diving activities you engage in, expect to
see a wide variety of marine life, shoals of barracuda,
batfish, angel and butterfly fish on and around the
coral covered boulders.
Blue spotted rays, moray eels and boxfish hide amongst
the many cracks and crevasses while titan triggerfish
graze on the coral.
Giant groupers and turtles are not uncommon and Koh
Tao is famous for one giant seasonal visitor, the gentle
whale shark, which often appears around March and April.
Come and get your first lesson in scuba diving on Turtle
Island.

WHAT
YOU CAN DO AT DAYTIME ON KOH TAO!
Koh Tao is much more than a world class Mecca for scuba
divers. The island paradise has more than enough activities

during a long scuba diving vacation!
Remember,

else is underwater leaving the island all the more peaceful
for you to explore!

deserted beaches where a refreshing dip awaits; travel

crowds and civilisation, as you once knew it.
Want to develop your inner spirit? Stop for a session
of Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Reiki, Chi Gong or Reflexology
that are taught and practised.
Feeling
a little more energetic? Get the adrenalin pumping and
hire one of Asia Divers very own jet skis. Why not tune
up your wakeboarding or water skiing skills? Go for
a relaxing sail in a hobie cat, a paddle in a kayak
or even charter your own boat around the island for
a romantic picnic, snorkelling or even a spot of fishing.
Had
enough of all things wet? Feel like you have indulged
in too many local delicacies and need to burn off an
extra few pounds? Why not get the heart pumping in the
fully furnished gym?
Feeling
brave? Put the gloves on for Muay Thai boxing lessons
from expert coaches. How about learning or practicing
rock climbing for all levels set amongst stunning backdrops?
All that exercise made you a bit weary? Go and indulge
your spirit in one of the many spas with a herbal steam
bath, oil massage, foot massage or choose from a plethora
of other treatments. A traditional Thai massage is the
perfect way to soothe those aching limbs!
Need
a break from the sun? The island has recently opened
a beautiful mini-golf course and a ten-pin bowling for
a truly unique experience suitable for all the family!
Koh
Tao is an island for all ages and not just divers! Settle
into your hammock enjoy your scuba diving vacation and

mix that make every night a memorable one here on Koh
Tao!
Feeling in need of something a little more low key?
How about a drink while relaxing on a bed of traditional

An authentic Aussie b-b-q fills a hole while the cold
beers flow down.

snapper and seafood found anywhere.
Mexican

beyond?

FARANG
STAFF
Guy
– Course Director
The
current record holder for the longest surface interval
ever recorded on Koh Tao Guy spends much of his day
trying to sneak off with any sunglasses that have been
left in the shop and organising and running the Instructor
Development Courses. With over 12 years experience in
the business and a 100% pass rate he comes highly recommended!
Giles
– Staff Instructor
After
spending much of he's youth roaming the British countryside
in a converted bus, he one day took a wrong turn and
several month later he was found drifting offshore clinging
to the last remaining seat of he's beloved bus. Eventually
picked up by the Rainbow Warrior II he was trained as
a diver to rescue dolphins from fishing nets. Today,
working as a scuba diving instructor, he still has a
great affinity for these underwater allies.
Jeff
– Staff Instructor
Brought
up on the hills of the Swiss Alps, sick of the sight
of cows and only cheese to eat Jeff soon ran away with
a beautiful young milk-maid to find fame and fortune
overseas. Winding up on Koh Tao with 10 years experience
and teaching with his sexy Swiss-French accent he will
give you a course to remember.
Claude
– Staff Instructor
When
not falling off his bike Claude can generally be found
beavering away trying to repair his 1956 BCD. Arriving
on Koh Tao from Chelsea football stadium 4 years ago
with his already blown life savings, he’s realised that
only diving can make you happy.
Yotam
– Staff Instructor
Born
on a Bedouin birthing blanket in the Golan Heights Yotam
has been hiding out on Koh Tao for the last 3 years
after successfully managing to escape from an arranged
marriage to a camel. Diving for 10 years and fluent
in English and Hebrew he’s somewhat unusual but a cracking
instructor despite being unable to pronounce the word
‘chemical’.
Al
– Open Water Scuba Instructor
Al
cuts a dashing figure and can often be found doing press-ups
on the boat between dives. Our resident romeo, but be
warned, only the curvacious may apply. With his military
background he’s a force to be reckoned with.
Dom
– Open Water Scuba Instructor
Separated
at birth, Al’s long lost brother, when not increasing
the profits of Asia Bar can be found trying to keep
the Dive Master Trainees out of trouble. With 12 years
diving experience and every gadget known to man to assist
him you will be safe.
Fabrice
and Laurent – Open Water Instructors
Charly
– Dive Master
A
rose between 11 testosterone loaded thorns but with
6 years diving experience.
Eduardo
– Dive Master
Despite
being the baby of the bunch, our newest and cutest edition
to the team he’s got more talent than Colin Farrell
has in his little finger. If its fun your after then
this is your man.
Lubi
– Underwater Videographer
Ex-KGB,
assasin & spy has turned he's talent from espionage
to underwater film making. Fueld on Vodka, this hot
pig-tailed Spielberg of the underwaterworld, will capture
your first aquatic moments and painstakingly edith them
to turn you in to a perfect sub-aqua star.
THAI STAFF
They
may seem quiet, but without them around us , we would
be working so much harder. All speaking great English,
they will assist with travel needs, bike rental , boat
trips …. pretty much anything they can. All comes with
a smile.

GUY
CORSELLIS : COURSE DIRECTOR
Guy
Corsellis is the Manager of Asia Divers and a Course
Director. He has participated in many Instructor programs
over the last 9 years, and successfully taught scuba
diving instructors who today are passing on their knowledge
to students all around the world.
Originally from Belgium, Guy has now lived and dived
on Koh Tao for over 14 years and has an excellent understanding
of the local scuba diving industry - and just as importantly,
the local people, instructors and culture! , with the
responsibilities of a wife and kid, Guy has moved further
into the business side of the diving industry, concerned
with e-mails, orders, educational materials and staff
management . Guy still gets a thrill out of teaching
entry level divers, but as his needs have changed he's
been able to grow within the dive industry.
The
dive industry is diverse and professional scuba diving
instructorswho work in the industry have many different
objectives. Guy's capability to adapt and teach on an
individual basis depending on your personal objectives
has shown a high success rate . Guy conducts Instructor
courses in French, German, Dutch and English.
We feel that after an IDC with Guy at Asia Divers you

Be
certified as a PADI DM ( or hold an equivalent certification

study philosophy. Independent study enhances schedule
flexibility and allows you to arrive better prepared

Having prepared your IDC before getting here will allow
you to enjoy the island lifestyle a little more, as
well as it will make you a more knowledgeable and marketable
instructor. Simply order your Instructor Candidate Workbook,

Learning Section. Doing so will make your IDC schedule
much more relaxed. While being at home , try to get
hold of the Diving Knowledge Workbook. Using this manual
is a great tool to refresh your Divemaster Diving Knowledge.
This section below will allow you to download all the
necessary paperwork required for your IDC.
IDC
DURATION
The
IDC could be completed in as little as seven days. This
would make the schedule really tight , and give us very
long days. We prefer to schedule it over nine days.
The IDC program consists of two parts , the Assistant
Instructor course ( part 1, four days ) followed by
the Open Water Scuba Instructor course ( part 2, 5 days
).
Prior to the start of each IDC program we run Prep courses
to brush up on Divemaster theory, skill demonstration
quality, and we also give you an introduction on how
to organize Pool or Classroom sessions.
During these 12 days we have time to work together to
ensure that you are well prepared to pass the PADI IE

ENRICHED
AIR NITROX : EANx
Enriched air equals longer bottom time, therefore Nitrox
diving is becoming more and more popular around the
world. Enriched air offers more than that though. Knowing
how to use Nitrox will open up many doors for you.
Any
technical or decompression diving with gas switches
such as in the Tec-Rec Deep Diving Course, requires
a solid foundation on how to use blends with even more
than 40 % oxygen.
Being a Nitrox Diving Instructor enables you to teach
Nitrox courses thus increasing your opportunities. If
you haven't done so already, you must first take part
in an Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty course. During
the Nitrox specialty course you will learn the theory

TECH
DIVING ON KOH TAO!
How a rebreather works is very simple. Already more
than 120 years ago, Henry Fleuss, a self-taught engineer,
believed that there had to be a way to make the diver
independent of the air hose and the pump.
Fleuss
reasoned that if the diver could carry a supply of oxygen
and an alkali to remove carbon dioxide, he could eliminate
the air supply from top side.
The first rebreather was born........
Later, around 1911, Dr Drager began developing more
advanced rebreathers in Germany. In 1942 the first recreational
use of rebreathers took place by Hans Hass. Today rebeathers
are smaller and more compact. This is the dolphin unit
you’ll be using during training!!
As Nitrox has become commonly available, the semi-closed
rebreather is NOW accessible to the average recreational
diver. The PADI rebreather specialty instructor course
will provide you with diving instructor training from
a PADI Course Director on how to teach this specialty
course.
You’ll
have a close look on how to organize the confined sessions
and the Open Water training dives, which require direct
supervision, and how to teach the academic portion of
this PADI programme.
The
course will also provide you with in-depth information
on how to prepare and maintain the rebreather unit.
Making 3 dives on the Dolphin unit, while discovering
and familiarizing with a complete new way of diving,
will make it much easier for you to market this specialty
programme.
Our course director can even take you a little further
into this new experience, and teach you more about gas
blending and decompression procedures.
As
the prerequisites are tough, don’t waste any more time!!

WHITE ROCK
This
is a popular dive site, where depth ranges from 2 -
20 metres. There are two giant submerged pinnacles which
rise from 22 metres deep. You will come across an impressive
array of hard and soft corals as well as many reef fishes
such as groupers, parrotfishes, and wrasses. During
night dives, you will come across huge barracudas as
they hunt for their prey. Schools of butterfly fishes
and angel fishes dominate this aquatic landscape. Beware
of the triggerfish, which are hugely territorial by
nature!

TWINS
This
site should be called Triple Peaks, as it consists of
three granite reefs covered with beautiful corals and
sponges. Depth ranges from 7 - 17 metres where you will
come across triggerfishes, bannerfishses, the beautiful
blue-ringed anglefishes as well as the blue-spotted
stingrays. We can also let you in on our secret ? clownfishes
which can perform tricks! This is an extremely pleasant
dive site.

GREEN ROCK
One
of the most popular dive sites in the Koh Tao area,
depth ranges down to about 25 metres. It provides more
adventurous diving as you can swim through the many
crevices, arches and swim-holes. Common sightings include
harlequin sweetlips, blue-ringed angelfish, moray eels,
and triggerfishes. Sometimes, you can spot whitetip
reef sharks, large groupers and schools of yellowtail
fusiliers. It is one of the deepest dive sites near
Koh Tao and also often visited by the world's bigest
fish, the Whale Shark.

CHUMPHON PINNACLE
Considered
one of the more challenging dive sites with occasionally
strong currents, this is a spectacular site to spot
many grey reef sharks! Depth is up to about 36 metres
and is laden with the most impressive array of sealife
from giant groupers to black corals, huge anemone gardens
to yellow boxfishes. The four fascinating submerged
pinnacles will present big pelagic fishes such as barracuda,
mackerel and trevallies. Adult and juvenile batfishes
will escort you around the pinnacles. The abundant microscopic
food amongst the corals attract schools of fish with
possible sightings of whale sharks.

SAIL ROCK
15
km north of Koh Pagnan, a block emerges from the sea,
and ranges down to 40 metres. The main attraction of
this dive site is a naturally formed 15-metre high underwater
dive wall or chimney. Divers can ascend from 18 meters
up the chimney wall to the surface, making this a unique
diving experience. Visibility is usually excellent at
around 30 metres. The structure itself is pocked with
small holes, which are ideal homes for white-eyed and
yellow margin moray eels, as well as large sea anemones.
Sightings of reef sharks and manta rays are also common,
as are large schools of tuna, jacks, trevallies and
barracudas. Even here, whale sharks can be seen occasionally.

SOUTHWEST PINNACLE
The
Southwest Pinnacle consists of three rock formations,
which range from 4 - 30 meters below the surface, representing
a series of short wall dives. At the top of the pinnacles
are blankets of underwater plant life in a stunning
array of rainbow colours. Between the rocks are many
bushy black coral sea whips and gorgonian sea fans.
Leopard sharks are often encountered and it is even
possible to meet the occasional whale shark. Giant groupers
are common here, as are scribbled filefish, masked porcupine
fish, yellowtail, barracuda and snapper.
